Synopsis : O belíssimo Teatro de Paris é o lugar perfeito para um "Fantasma" (Gerard Butler) se refugiar. Gênio da música desfigurado, ele encontra na ingênua Christine Daaé (Emmy Rossum) a cantora ideal para alcançar as suas próprias aspirações. Quando a temperamental La Carlotta (Minnie Driver) abandona os ensaios do espetáculo pouco antes da estréia, resta aos novos gerentes do teatro escalar Christine para o papel principal. Na noite da estréia, o Fantasma assiste ao début de sua protegida de camarote. Mas ele não é o único a ser seduzido pelos encantos da jovem. O Visconde Raoul de Chagny (Patrick Wilson), um ex-namorado de infância de Christine, a reencontra. Com o coração dividido entre seus dois 'pretendentes', a moça acaba despertando a ira do Fantasma, cujo ciúme violento e obsessivo coloca em risco a vida de qualquer um que ouse entrar no Teatro de Paris.
